About Us
New Hope Baptist Church was pioneered in 1984 by Pastor Michael Frazier upon his graduation from Liberty University in Virginia. Originally meeting in the pastor’s home. The church continued to grow and eventually moved its meetings into the Burrillville middle school. A short time later the church found a permanent home at its present location in downtown Pascoag, RI.
In 1989 Pastor George Warren was called to assume the pastorate of the church. Under his leadership the church purchased a building from the Primative Methodists in the USA and New Hope Baptist Church gained a permenant home.Through the faithfulness of God's people the mortgage the church is now debt free and the building renovated literally from top to bottom.
The church's missions program has grown through the years. Currently New Hope supports church-planting missionaries around the world, two evangelists, a feeding center in Cambodia, tribal training and translation work, and a Bible college for pastors and missionaries. New Hope strives to be personally involved in the lives of its missionaries on foreign fields.
New Hope was instrumental in starting two churches in nearby cities. The first with now evangelist Ron Maggard in downtown Providence, Rhode Island and the second following an ordaination service for Robert Cote, a former deacon at New Hope, in Worcester, Massachusetts.
A variety of ministries are in place to encourage people to live by faith, exhort each of us to live godly lives, and teach all who will listen, from the toddlers to the seniors, how to apply Christian principles to our lives for God’s glory and our blessings.
New Hope Baptist Church is a diverse congregation representing people from a variety of religious and cultural backgrounds, races and ages. New Hope is an autonomous, self-governing local church patterned after the local assemblies found in the early churches of the New Testament. Our church services are casual with a mix of music styles as a means of worship.
